SUBJECT:
Zoning Text Amendment - Edgartown Settlement Zoning District
SUMMARY:
The City of Fort Pierce Planning Department is proposing a Zoning Text Amendment to the Code of Ordinances at Chapter 125-197, Edgartown Settlement (ES) Zoning District to reorganized Chart 1-1, Uses Allowed, Amending, reorganizing and clarifying use definitions, classifications and regulations regarding permissible noise and hours of indoor and outdoor entertainment amongst other amendments.
Edgartown Settlement (ES) Zoning District was adopted by Ordinance L-270 in 2012. Since that time the zoning regulations have been amended and also discussed in detail through Community Meetings. Various Staff proposed amendments to the zoning code in 2021 to a meeting of the Edgartown Community. Since that time the community has raised concerns regarding outdoor entertainment and noise. This item proposes text amendments to incorporate previous recommendations and to address issues of outdoor use and noise regulation. The proposed amendments seek to better arrange definitions and other sections, including Chart 1-1, uses allowed.

RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommendation is for the Planning Board to recommend the proposed text amendment for approval to City Commission.

- Recommendation of Disapproval.
