SUBJECT:
Resolution 23-R33 Establishing the NW Pioneer Park Honored Pioneer Plaques Program
SUMMARY:
The City of Fort Pierce started the process of naming the NW Pioneer Park in 1981. Since that time, the park has been re-dedicated, and it is the City of Fort Pierce’s wish to include names of individuals who have impacted the history, development, and progression of the Lincoln Park Community. These individuals’ names will be placed on a bronze plaque at the entrance of NW Pioneer Park, highlighting their contributions, accomplishments, and life’s work within the Lincoln Park Community. The City of Fort Pierce intends to maintain consistency with the guidelines and resolution presented for approval. Tradition and continuity of individual names and community identification are important community values.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the Resolution and Guidelines as presented.
