SUBJECT:
Zoning Text Amendment - Code Of Ordinances Section 125-322 - Fences on Vacant Lots
SUMMARY:
The proposed amendments provide permits to be issued for fences on vacant property providing that certain height, access and locational standards are met. Unsecured vacant lots often result in dumping grounds that are difficult to properly maintain. In addition, inappropriately designed fencing can negatively impact the visual character and quality of life for surrounding residents and businesses. The proposed amendments also provide for access to be maintained for code enforcement purposes.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommendation is for the Planning Board to forward to the City Commission with a recommendation of approval.
