SUBJECT:
Approve Avenue B Construction Change Order No 1 for Heavy Civil, Inc., Bid No. 2022-016 in the amount of $7,548.96.
SUMMARY:
During construction of the improvements to Avenue B from 13th Street to 8th Street, there were changes and field directives that were authorized using contingency funding. A summary of the changes and field directives is attached in the Change Order No 1 document. Additionally, there were item cost overruns and underruns that were applied throughout construction. These are also detailed in the attached Change Order No 1 document.
Construction by Heavy Civil Inc. is complete as of November 15, 2023. Under grounding of overhead utilities is ongoing, but the roadway is open to traffic.
The final invoice has been submitted for payment with the retainage payment due. Staff has reconciled all Heavy Civil costs and has determined that a Change Order in the amount of $7,548.96 is needed to close the construction contract.
