SUBJECT:
Approve ten (10) Agreements for Tax Deed Sale Surplus Proceeds between the City of Fort Pierce and the St. Lucie County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller.
SUMMARY:
Ten (10) separate properties were sold at a public tax deed sale due to unpaid taxes. The City of Fort Pierce had various liens on those properties and was entitled to certain surplus proceeds from the sale. Pursuant to the Agreements, the Clerk has agreed to honor the validity of all liens filed within twenty (20) years of the tax deed sale date and disperse the surplus proceeds, according to applicable law, upon receiving amended claims for the surplus proceeds from the City.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff will proceed as directed by the City Commission.
