SUBJECT:
Approval of Heavy Civil, Inc. Change Order 2 in the amount of $16,392.50 for final sidewalk construction along the Avenue B (8th Street to 13th Street) Roadway Reconstruction project.
SUMMARY:
The Avenue B Reconstruction project from 8th Street to 13th Street was substantially completed in November 2023. The City Commission approved Change Order 1 during the January 16, 2024, meeting which included the reconciliation of construction costs.
This change order includes compensation for the construction of 185 square yards of concrete sidewalk which remains to be completed due to the delay of outside utility agencies completing their relocation of their overhead facilities to underground.

RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of Change Order 2.
ALTERNATIVES:
An alternative is to direct staff to receive bids from other contractors.
