CORRECTIVE ACTIONS:
- Replace all missing or damaged smoke alarms.
- The tile floor has cracked in many areas, the tub is unstable and it appears that the sub-floor is in sub-standard condition. Hire a contractor to make repairs or certify that the sub-floor is structurally sound.
- The back porch was enclosed without permits. Obtain a permit for the enclosure or obtain a permit to return it to its original condition.
- Walkways have severe cracking and are not supported appropriately. Make all necessary repairs to the walkways and replace the handrail on the front porch.
- Repair or replace all weather-stripping around the doors so that the door ways are water tight.
- Repair all holes and gaps in the exterior and interior walls.
- Replace the refrigerator.
- Plumbing alterations in the rear room have been made without permits. Obtain a permit for the work that has been done. (Issue resolved)
- The water heater was installed without a permit. Obtain a permit for the water heater and correct deficiencies.
- The outdoor light pole is missing the light cover; replace the cover so that the electrical elements are not exposed to weather.
- Replace all missing insect screens.
- The house is infested with rats and flying insects. Provide proof of extermination.
RECOMMENDATION:
The City requests that if the Special Magistrate finds the violation exists, the violator(s) be given 60 days to obtain a permit and comply with all permit conditions or a fine of $100.00 per day be assessed.
