SUBJECT:
Approval of Change Order No. 1 for Specific Authorization No. 5 with Culpepper & Terpening in the amount not to exceed $19,175.00 for engineering services for the Little Jim Fish Camp sanitary sewer connection.
SUMMARY:
The City of Fort Pierce contracted with Culpepper & Terpening to provide professional engineering services pertaining to the design and permitting of a lift station and a sanitary sewer service connection from the Little Jim Bait & Tackle site to the St. Lucie County Utilities system located at the Stan Blum Boat Ramp. The City of Fort Pierce recently acquired additional land from FDOT which abuts the Little Jim site. This land afforded staff the opportunity to relocate the proposed lift station away from the waterfront in order to free up this prime land from any encumbrances. The project consultant fee for this engineering redesign is $19,175.00.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the redesign.
ALTERNATIVES:
Deny and leave the lift station at the shore of the Indian River Lagoon.
