SUBJECT:
Approval of a Unit Price Construction Contract with R.K. Contractors of Fort Pierce, FL, for general contractor services to replace an existing 6-inch cast iron water main with a new 8-inch PVC water main on Avenue B and Indian River Drive.
SUMMARY:
During the Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency board meeting on June 11, 2024, the Board made a positive decision to award Bid No. 2024-016 to R.K. Contractors, Inc. This project involves replacing an existing 6-inch cast iron water main with a new 8-inch PVC water main. The work will include the installation of various services, fire hydrants, valves, and appurtenances along Avenue B and Indian River Drive, as outlined in the construction plans. Additionally, a section of the 15-inch gravity sewer main will be removed. This initiative is a significant step towards ensuring the consistency and quality of potable water and wastewater facilities that will be connected to the FPUA systems.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval.
