Resolution 25-R15 expressing support for Project Knight Rider as a Qualified Economic Development Ad Valorem Tax Exemption applicant.

Project Knight Rider is seeking consideration as a qualified applicant for an Economic Development Ad Valorem Tax Exemption. Project Knight Rider intends to renovate existing buildings totaling 59,332 square feet and construct a new building of 20-30,000 square feet for a manufacturing facility and will invest approximately $18.75 million in renovation and new construction capital investment and approximately $19.4 million in tangible personal property capital investment. Project Knight Rider is anticipated to create 294 new full-time equivalent jobs in the City of Fort Pierce, thereby contributing to the economic growth and development of our community.

Based on the current representations made by Project Knight Rider, the City of Fort Pierce has made a preliminary determination that Project Knight Rider meets the requirements for an Economic Development Ad Valorem Tax Exemption in accordance with Section 196.1995, Florida Statutes, whereby the business location is a “new business” for purposes of Section 196.012(14), Florida Statutes. Final approval must be made through an approved Ordinance.
