Emergency Purchase - Mold Remediation Sunrise Theatre Black Box

SUBJECT:

Approval of expenditure to Sani Effect for emergency mold remediation at the Sunrise Theatre, totaling $94,531.28.

SUMMARY:

This is for a mold remediation project that was initiated in October 2024 and was completed in January 2025. Mold was discovered in the Main Theater in September 2024, and needed to be addressed immediately as events were coming up. The high cost of the work was not anticipated and therefore not submitted to the Commission sooner. 

Sani Effect Environmental is a vendor that is used for multiple City Buildings for similar situations at the same time as the Sunrise Theatre. Due to the immediate need for work, there was not a competitive procurement. 

RECOMMENDATION:

The recommendation is to approve this purchase for Sani Effect Environmental for the amount of $94,531.28.

N/A. The work is already complete.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The Sunrise Theatre was not expecting to have this expense at the beginning of this project. We are able to reallocate funds to cover the expenses.
