SUBJECT:
Approval of the Grant Agreement for Commercial Facade Improvement 305 S 7th St
SUMMARY:
The intent of the Commercial Façade Grant Program is to significantly enhance the appearance of buildings and eliminate blight within the FPRA district. This program is designed to encourage redevelopment of the FPRA by enhancing its visual aesthetics, which will lead to increased property values, tenant occupancy, economic development, and job creation. The program offers financial assistance in the form of a reimbursable grant, matching 50% up to $25,000.
Graden Holdings of Treasure Coast LLC, the applicant, is requesting funding to enhance the facade of their property by replacing the fence around the property. The total estimated investment for this eligible improvement is $7,600, with a grant request of $3,800.
The application was evaluated on the following criteria:
•Visual impact/ Blight Elimination – The project's ability to enhance the visual appeal of the FPRA and significantly eliminate the blight of the building.
•Total Project Investment –The higher the ratio of private investment to public grant dollar investment, the higher the score.
•Design & Creativity – The innovation and visual appeal of the facade design, compatibility with the neighborhood’s architectural style, and the sustainability and longevity of the proposed improvements.
•Community Impact/Public Benefit – The funded projects not only improve the appearance of commercial properties but also generate meaningful positive impacts for the community and the general public.
A panel of three evaluators assessed the applications, with each evaluator able to award up to 100 points, for a maximum possible score of 300 points.
305 S 7th Street - Graden Holdings of Treasure Coast LLC scored 149 points.
The CRA Advisory Committee reviewed the application and recommended award for this application.
Staff is now seeking approval of the Grant Agreement for the Commercial Façade project at 305 S 7th Street, submitted by Graden Holdings of Treasure Coast LLC.
