Discussion and direction regarding Seven Gables House Exterior Rehabilitation; RFP No. 2025-013 for General Contractor Services.

The City owns the Historic Seven Gables House (SGH), situated at 482 N. Indian River Drive, Fort Pierce, FL 34950. Currently, it is being operated by the St. Lucie County Chamber of Commerce, serving as a Visitor Center.  Originally constructed in 1905, the SGH became City property in 1998. Initially located on U.S. Highway 1, it was later relocated to its present site. The SGH is now listed in the City’s local registry of historic sites and districts.  Although the SGH stands as a historic symbol in the community, it has faced deterioration over the years and requires improvements. Enhancing the structure will help the City fulfill its goal of beautifying the community and ensuring the building’s longevity.  In the 2024-2025 Fiscal Year Project-Based Budget, the Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency (FPRA) has allocated $500,000 for exterior improvements to Historic Seven Gables House, which will serve as the funding source for this project. 

Award RFP No. 2025-013 for General Contractor Services for the Historic Seven Gables House Exterior Rehabilitation and authorize staff to enter into negotiations with the Highest Ranked Respondent, The Tradesmen Group, LLC.

Staff will proceed as directed by the City Commission.
