SUBJECT:
Legislative Hearing - Ordinance 25-018 Amending Chapter 103, Article III "Contractors". FIRST READING
SUMMARY:
Proposed Ordinance reduces the number and type of certificates of competency that are provided by the City for local specialty contractors. This amendment is necessary for compliance with recently enacted state statutes which preempts most contractor licensing categories to the State. Further, the Ordinance proposes to reduce the number of members serving on the Board of Examiners of Contractors and requires said members to be residents of the city, in accordance with state statute.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of proposed Ordinance 25-018 Amending Chapter 103, Article III "Contractors".
ALTERNATIVES:
Do not approve at this time.
