Request approval of R.K. Contractors Change Order No. 1 - Indian River Drive and Avenue B Water Main Upgrades - Ref. Bid No. 2024-016

SUBJECT:

Approval of R.K. Contractor's Change Order No. 1 in the amount of $41,422.00 as needed for field changes encountered during construction of FPUA's Indian River Drive and Avenue B Water Main Upgrades construction project; the change order amount will be reimbursed through the Florida Jobs Growth Infrastructure Grant.

SUMMARY:

The original construction contract was awarded to R.K. Contractors, Inc. on June 11, 2024, for the amount of $298,913.28 and included water main upgrades along Indian River Drive and Avenue B to support future development along the Indian River Drive corridor.  Although project funding is funded with FPRA monies, it is subsequently reimbursed via the Florida Jobs Growth Infrastructure Grant Agreement No. G0100. 

The requested additional project funding is required as a result of FPUA field directives as described in the attached change order.

RECOMMENDATION:

FPUA staff has recommended approval of CO No. 1.
