SUBJECT:
Approval of Lease Agreement with Glynda Cavalcanti and Marlene Howard for a Temporary Parking Lot at Avenue E and Indian River Drive in the amount equal to the annual property taxes ($3,250.93 for 2025) for a period of two years with an option of a one-year renewal.
SUMMARY:
During the City Commission Meeting held on June 2, 2025, the Commission expressed a desire to increase parking availability in the downtown area by establishing temporary parking spaces at the site located at Avenue E and Indian River Drive (Parcel ID: 2403-801-0016-000-7). The property owners, Glynda Cavalcanti and Marlene Howard, have agreed to lease the site to the City for a period of two years, with an option for a one-year renewal.
The City's financial obligations will include rental payments equivalent to the property taxes, which for 2025 amount to $3,250.93. Additionally, the City will be responsible for maintaining general commercial liability insurance for the site. The estimated construction costs for the project are projected to be $20,000.
