Request to reduce code enforcement fines in the amount of $171,900.00 against 2402 Oleander Avenue, Ft. Pierce, FL, Parcel ID # 2422-604-0001-000-3 which was previously owned by Nicholas G. Austgen, 2402 Oleander Avenue, Ft. Pierce, FL and currently owned by Federal National Mortgage Association, % Shapiro, Fishman, Gache LLP, 2424 North Federal Highway, Ste 360, Boca Raton, FL 33431 to $2,000.00 payable in 30 days.
SUMMARY:
BACKGROUND:
A lien was placed on Nicholas G. Austgen in March 2004 for failure to maintain property and outside storage. In October 2007 the property came into compliance. In February 2008 the City Commission approved reducing the lien to $750.00 payable in 6 months; however the reduction was not paid and the lien reverted back to the original amount.
The property is now under contract and the current owner, Federal National Mortgage Association, is offering $2,000.00 to settle the lien.

RECOMMENDATION:
The Special Magistrate heard the offer on March 2, 2016. He is recommending the City Commission reduce the lien to $2,000.00 to cover the administrative expenses of the city, payable in 30 days.
