Recommendation from the Parks Advisory Committee to Initiate a Call for Submissions for the Renaming of Coach Fenn Park.
SUMMARY:
The Parks Advisory Committee suggests that a new name be considered for "Coach Fenn Park," as Mr. Havert L. Fenn is already honored by a County facility within the city—the Havert L. Fenn Center, located at 2000 Virginia Ave, Fort Pierce, FL 34982. This presents an opportunity to recognize other impactful individuals whose contributions to Fort Pierce have not yet been publicly acknowledged. By renaming the park, the City can celebrate and highlight the achievements of those whose names have not been prominently listed on a public facility, thereby enriching our community's history and inspiring future generations.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Parks Advisory Committee recommends that the City Commission Initiate a Call for Submissions for the Renaming of Coach Fenn Park.
ALTERNATIVES:
The Parks Advisory Committee will proceed as directed by the City Commission.
