Re: Approval of Award Agreement from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement

SUBJECT:

Approval and acceptance of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) FY24 –Project Safe Neighborhoods – Southern District of Florida (PSS) Grant Program, award number PS001 in the amount of $137,190 to be used to purchase specialized equipment, overtime for officers participating in Operation Cease Fire through the Courageous Kids Program and R.I.C.H. House, along with overtime for Professional Staff of the Police Department assigned to assist the officers.

SUMMARY:

The Department has tentatively been awarded funding from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, FY24—Project Safe Neighborhoods—Southern District of Florida (PSS-SDFL). The approved award (PS001) amount is $137,190. Accepting the award requires the City Mayor to sign the Award Agreement.

This grant is 100% reimbursable for expenses and does not require a local match.

The City Attorney’s Office has approved the document regarding form and correctness.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends acceptance of the "Award Agreement."

ALTERNATIVES:

Do not accept the "Award Agreement"; subsequently, funds will not be awarded.
