SUBJECT:
Request award of the 31st Street sidewalk improvements construction contract to the lowest bidder, Lynch Paving and Construction Company, Inc. in an amount equal to $228,278.00.
SUMMARY:
Of the four (4) respondents replying to the City's Request for Construction Bids, Lynch Paving and Construction Company, Inc. submitted the lowest bid. This bid has been reviewed and approved for award by staff and FDOT in accordance with the stipulations noted in the Local Agency Participation (LAP) Agreement. The proposed work includes the construction of sidewalks along 31st Street between Tennessee Avenue and Okeechobee Road.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends award of the contract to Lynch Paving and Construction Company, Inc.
ALTERNATIVES:
Do not complete the improvements and relinquish the project allocated federal funds.

FISCAL IMPACT:
The $228,278.00 will be encumbered from SMU Revenue Account No. 403-4300-538-3490 with reimbursement by the Federal Government as administered by FDOT in accordance with the LAP Agreement.
