- Submitted For:
- Diane Hobley-Burney
SUBJECT:
Approval of Alarm Ordinance Management and Mutual Cooperation Agreement with the Public Safety Corporation.
SUMMARY:
The police department requests approval to execute the Alarm Ordinance Management and Mutual Cooperation Agreement with the Public Safety Corporation. The Agreement authorizes a third party contractor, CryWolf to assist the City of Fort Pierce with the recently amended Alarm Ordinance and provides for the enforcement of the ordinance so that individuals and businesses that use alarm systems can be held accountable for false alarms.
The contract was amended at the Commissions request, which lowered the City of Fort Pierce's fees and penalties associated with amended Alarm Ordinance and collected by CryWolf. This was a county-wide initiative that started several years ago. St. Lucie County, the St. Lucie County Fire District, and the City of Port St. Lucie have executed their Agreement with the Public Safety Corporation.
