SUBJECT:

Approve award of RFP No. 2017-013 - Nuisance Abatement to Gone Fishing Landscaping & More, LLC and Mow 4 Less Lawn Care, LLC in the total amount of $25,000.00 each.

SUMMARY:

RFP No. 2017-013 was advertised on March 14th and March 21st, 2017 with a scheduled opening at 3:00 PM on April 13, 2017. The bid invitation was sent to 287 vendors. Fifteen (15) vendors requested specifications with five (5) responding plus 0 "No Bids" (33% total response).

The services being provided are nuisance abatement services including boarding up vacant structures, removing graffiti and securing pools.

The City of Fort Pierce shall award contracts to two (2) primary contractors, the two most responsive and responsible bidders. It is the intention of the City to issue work equally to both contractors, however, the assignment of work shall be at the sole discretion of the Code Compliance Manager.  Two contracts have been selected to ensure a continuation of services should one of the contractors be unable to perform the work assigned.

RECOMMENDATION:

Approval of the ranking below and to award to the top two highest ranked firms, Gone Fishing Landscaping & More LLC, Fort Pierce, FL in an amount not to exceed $25,000.00 and to Mow 4 Less Lawn Care LLC in the amount not to exceed $25,000.00. The term of the contract will be one year with two (2) one-year renewals with amounts not to exceed $25,000.00 per contract.

ALTERNATIVES:

Deny the award.
