SUBJECT:

Approve lease amendment between the City of Fort Pierce and Jetty View, LLC for a six (6) month term for continued use of a temporary parking lot along Seaway Drive in the amount of $36,000.00.

SUMMARY:

The City of Fort Pierce seeks to continue a land lease agreement with Jetty View, LLC for property that currently is used as a temporary parking lot. This temporary parking has proven to be successful and is frequently used by visitors and guest.

The property owner has elected to raise the lease payments by 50%. At this time the need for available parking is great and the creation of a parking area at 301 South Ocean Dr. has not begun. Approval of this lease will allow for time to create a temporary parking solution on the newly acquired City parcel and the anticipated private parking lot located at Seaway Dr. and South Ocean Dr. should be nearing completion.
 

RECOMMENDATION:

The Public Works Department recommends approval of this lease amendment for the six (6) month term while a permanent solution is sought.

Staff will proceed as directed by the Commission.
