- Submitted For:
- Sean Baldwin
SUBJECT:
Approval to increase Blanket Purchase Order # 140263 for Wuesthoff Medical Center from $9,500 to $16,000.
SUMMARY:
The Police Department requests that Blanket Purchase order # 140263 for Wuesthoff Medical Center be increased from $9,500 to $16,000. Wuesthoff Medical Center provides blood alcohol and qualitative drug screens for the Fort Pierce Police Department, as well as all other law enforcement agencies and the Federal Bureau of Investigation in the 19th Judicial Circuit.
This adjustment is necessary, because the police department has increased DUI enforcement activity by 47% with 174 arrests to date this year, compared to 118 last year. This additional activity has increased the need for laboratory analysis services provided under this contract.
Wuesthoff Medical Center is the only known source to meet the Police Department's specialized needs for analyzing blood evidence.
