Selection of Mayor Pro Tem, pursuant to Section 23 of the City Charter which requires the city commissioners to shall select one (1) of their number as Mayor Pro Tem at the first regular meeting following January 1.

The individual elected shall act as mayor-commissioner and have all of the powers and duties of that office during the absence or disability of the said mayor-commissioner.  The following have served as Mayor Pro Tem:

2017 - Commissioner Sessions
2016 - Commissioner Perona
2015 - Commissioner Alexander
2014 - Commissioner Becht
2013 - Commissioner Sessions   
2012 - Commissioner Perona
2011 - Commissioner Alexander
2010 - Commissioner Becht

Using the traditional rotation, Commissioner Johnson  would be next in line to serve as Mayor Pro Tem.
