RFP No. 2018-004 City Marina Maitenance Dredging Contractor Selection

SUBJECT:

Approval of  Contractor Selection Committee recommendation for RFP No. 2018-004 City Marina Maintenance Dredging and to enter into contract with Gator Dredging in the amount of $385,500.00.

SUMMARY:

RFP No. 2018-004 was advertised in February 2018. Invitations were sent to 141 vendors with 24 requesting bid specifications. The City received 2 responses to the RFP. The selection committee reviewed the RFP response packages and is recommending that the City enter into a contract with Gator Dredging.  This will be a multi-year contract for the maintenance of the Marina channel and basin. The intial contract will address the Marina channel and outer basin which is estimated to be 5,000 cu. yds. of spoil material for removal. We will utilize approximately 2,500 cu. yds. to replenish the southern slope of Tern Island which functioned as designed during Hurricane Irma. We will also deliver up to  2,000 cu.yds. to the Golf course to be utilized for slope stabilization.

Approval

Reject the RFP responses and place the RFP back out for advertisement.
