SUBJECT:
Request for approval for an extension of time to pay reduced demolition and lot clearing liens totaling $7,099.78 against 715 N 20th Street by current owner Jeremy Castell.
SUMMARY:
The reduction of liens was granted to previous owner Mr. Willie J. Walker, 2009 Avenue G, Apt. A, Ft. Pierce, FL on November 5, 2012. The Commission granted Mr. Walker 18 months to pay the lot clearing lien in the amount of $942.90 and 24 months to pay the demolition lien of $6,156.88. The current owner, Mr. Jeremy Castell, requests the city extend the reduction of liens an additional 24 months based on:
1. Mr. Willie J. Walker, Mr. Jeremy Castell's father, was terminally ill but was unaware of this at the time the City Commission granted the reduction of lien.
2. Mr. Castell inherited this debt from Mr. Walker who is now deceased. With Mr. Walker's death came unexpected funeral costs.
3. Mr. Castell is willing to pay this debt, however, he needs more time.
