Request authorization to award RFP 2014-017 Alternative Plans Examiners and Inspectors to GFA International, Port St. Lucie, FL, for a term of one year with the option to be renewed on a yearly basis not to exceed two yearly renewal periods in the amount not to exceed $120,000 annually.

The Building Department had to reach out to the private sector for plan review and inspection services due to the loss of two certified employees and the injury of another.  We've had to continue to use a municipal provider due to the lack of response from qualified candidates in this field.
  
Sixteen (16) companies requested the specifications, which were due on May 28, 2014, with only two companies responding, GFA International, Port St. Lucie, FL  and Universal Engineering Science, Fort Pierce, FL.

The Evaluation Committee  would like to request authorization from the Commission to award  RFP 2014-017 to GFA International, Port St. Lucie, FL,  for a term of one year with the option to be renewed on a yearly basis not to exceed two yearly renewal periods in the amount not to exceed $120,000 annually.
 

Award the RFP to Universal Engineering Sciences or choose not to award the bid at all.
