SUBJECT:
Resolution 18-R47 establishing a Food for FInes Program for the City of Fort Pierce.
SUMMARY:
A resolution to establish a program called "Food for Fines" in which parking citations issued between the dates of October 21, 2018 and December 1, 2018 can be paid with non-perishable food items.
- Each qualifying food item will earn a $2.00 credit toward the amount owed on the citation up to $50.00.
- Only one citation per motorist is eligible and only for first time offenders.
- Damaged, expired or opened items will not be accepted.
- Handicapped parking violations are not included in this program.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the Resolution as submitted.
