SUBJECT:
Approval of proposal from Beemats in the amount of $125,600 for the annual harvesting, maintenance and replanting of the vegetated mats at Indian Hills Recreation Area.
SUMMARY:
The maintenance will be performed on an annual basis, harvesting and replanting each island, a total of twelve, one time a year for an annual cost of $105,600. Also included in the proposal is a $20,000 allowance for the removal of water lettuce, if an outbreak occurs. The City Commission approved this item on January 3, 2017.
The Purchasing Division has reviewed and investigated this request and found that all information and justification to be correct. It is on this basis that the Purchasing Manager recommend that competitive procurement be waived and that the above item be treated as a "Single Source" commodity.
