Section 5-1.105.1 Permit Required, IPMC 108.1.4 Unlawful Structure, IPMC 506.2 Sanitary Drainage System Maintenance, IPMC 605.1 Electrical Equipment, IPMC 704.2.1 Smoke Alarms
CORRECTIVE ACTIONS:
1. The house has been converted into four residential units. Obtain a permit to revert the structure back into its original condition. You may apply for a permit to legitimize the conversion; however, please be advised that this use may not be approved in this zoning district, and that additional work would need to be done to bring the structure into compliance.
2. Obtain a permit for the addition that has been added to the back of the structure, or demolish the structure.
3. Obtain a permit for all plumbing repairs/alterations that have been made to the water supply and sanitary sewer system.
4. Obtain a permit for all electrical repairs/alterations that have been made including but not limited to the addition of lighting and junction boxes. Alterations made within the electrical panel are not compliant. Obtain a permit and make all necessary repairs.
5. Install smoke detectors as required.
6. The sanitary sewer system piping is clogged, make all necessary repairs.
7. Repair or replace the faulty kitchen light and/or ballast.

RECOMMENDATION:
The City requests that if the Special Magistrate finds the violation exists, the violator(s) be given 60 days to obtain a permit; obtain approval for all required inspections at least every 180 days until the permit has been closed; comply with all other permit conditions; and, cure all other violations described in the Order not requiring a permit or a fine of $100.00 per day be assessed.
