FINDINGS/ORDER:
March 6, 2013 it was ordered to replace broken windows and doors, repair or replace interior and exterior walls, paint the exterior where it is peeling, stained, and weathered, and to secure the structure with plywood painted to match the building. 120 days was given to comply or a fine of $500.00 per day would be initiated.
ACTION DATES:
- February 20, 2013 - Open window was boarded and hearing rescheduled for March 6, 2013.
- March 6, 2013 - Special Magistrate found the owner in violation and ordered to make repairs with permits as indicated above or fines would start.
- September 13, 2013 - Fines were initiated.
- January 24, 2014 - A lien was filed.
- October 2018 to current the permits have not been obtained. The building has been secured
- Fines accumulating @ $500.00 per day and as of 2/21/2019 are $994,030.00 ($30.00 recording fees).
RECOMMENDATION:
The City is requesting a reconsideration to amend the original order of violation and all subsequent orders to no longer require the permits. The case has been reviewed by the Building Department and agree to the proposed amendment as the building has been secured.
