Approve  purchase of one (1) 2019 Peterbilt refuse collection trucks, piggybacking the Florida Sheriff's Association Cooperative Purchasing Agreement FSA18-VEH18-VEL 26.0 for the Solid Waste Division in an amount not to exceed $273,974.00.

The Public Works Department is seeking to purchase one (1) 2019 Peterbilt 520 Sideloader refuse truck  with a Heil body from Palm Peterbilt Truck Centers through the Florida Sheriffs Association FSA18-VEH18-VEL 26.0, Specification #16 Cooperative Purchasing Agreement. Palm Peterbilt has a dealership and service center in Fort Pierce.

Approving the requested purchase will allow the Fleet Management Division to begin an in house refurbishiing program to bring older trucks back to a like new condition. The current service load and the need for available trucks when frontline trucks are being serviced does not allow for this program to begin. 

The Public Works Department recommends approval of the requested purchase.       

Staff will proceed as directed by the Commission.
