SUBJECT:
Approve request to reduce code enforcement lien in the amount of $5,800.00 against 3205 Boston Avenue, Ft. Pierce, FL 34950 - Parcel ID Number 2408-805-0013-000-3 owned by Pedro Moreno, 3107 Atlantic Avenue, Ft. Pierce, FL 34947 to $1,000.00 payable at or before closing.
SUMMARY:
The request for reduction is made by Mr. Moreno, the owner of property, who has a contract to sale the property. During testimony before the Special Magistrate, he stated that he did not know he had to contact the code officer and ask for a follow up inspection, which resulted in the fines and lien.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Special Magistrate, having heard the request of the owner and testimony from staff, recommends reducing the lien to $1,000.00 payable at closing or before. If not paid the lien will revert to the original amount of $5,800.00.
