Award of Bid No. 2019-013 South 7th Street Roadway Improvements

SUBJECT:

Approve award of the South 7th Street Roadway Improvements construction contract to the low bidder, PRP Construction Group, LLC, Indiantown, FL, in an amount not to exceed $809,686.41.

SUMMARY:

South 7th Street between South 10th Street and Wendell Road is in deplorable condition and lacks any drainage infrastructure.  This construction project not only will provide a piped drainage system with a positive connection to the Sunrise Boulevard drainage system, but also proposes a complete roadway rebuild, new ADA compliant sidewalks and crosswalks, curb and gutter, undergrounding of overhead electrical lines (work by FPUA forces), and a new sanitary sewer collection system (reimbursed by FPUA).  The work is expected to acheive final completion 210 days from issuance of the Notice to Proceed.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval

1. SMU Revenue Account No. 403-4300-538-3490 - $302,774.18
2. FPUA - $188,916.75
3. Road and Bridges Expense Account No. 100-1111-519-6310 - $317,995.48
a) $306,427.86 from the half-cent infrastructure surtax
b) $11,567.62 from the road and bridges impact fees
