SUBJECT:
Approve the purchase by the police department of three (3) Segways with two accessory packages in the total amount not to exceed $35,886.90 .
SUMMARY:
The Police Department requests the approval to purchase three (2- x2 Patrollers, 1- SE3 Patroller) Segway personal transporters. In addition, we would like to purchase two accessory packages for the two x2 Patrollers. These Segways will be used to patrol the downtown area, festivals, parades, parking garages, and other venues, where practical.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the purchase of the Segways.
ALTERNATIVES:
There are no alternatives as Segways can only be purchased from the manufacturer.
