SUBJECT:

Approve submittal of grant application and receipt of grant award from Allegany Franciscan Ministries for $75,000 to assist new business startups and new businesses relocating to Avenue D in Fort Pierce.

SUMMARY:

Allegany Franciscan Ministries has expressed interest in assisting the City with encouraging new business startups and new businesses to relocate to the Avenue D corridor in Fort Pierce. This grant award will complement the City's small business grant and commercial facade grant programs for Avenue D that will begin in October.

RECOMMENDATION:

Approve the submittal of the grant application and the receipt of a grant award from Allegany Franciscan Ministries to assist new business startups and business relocates to the Avenue D corridor in Fort Pierce.

ALTERNATIVES:

Do not approve the submittal of the grant application or the receipt of a grant award from Allegany Franciscan Ministries.

FISCAL IMPACT:

There will be no fiscal impact from this grant application approval other than the funding that has already been approved by the City Commission for the 2018-2019 CDBG Action Plan for small business development and commercial facade improvements. No cash match is required for this grant award.
