SUBJECT:
Approval of letter to oppose the Federal Communications Commissioner's (FCC) Declaratory Ruling regarding the siting of small cell wireless infrastructure.
SUMMARY:
This proposed rule will serve to preempt local control over land use decisions.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Legislative Affairs Director recommends the Mayor to execute the letter expressing the City’s opposition to the Federal Communications Commission’s proposed rule “Accelerating Wireless Broadband Deployment by Removing Barriers to Infrastructure Investment”.
ALTERNATIVES:
Do not send the letter, or send with modifications.
