SUBJECT:
Approve request to reduce code enforcement lien in the amount of $474,300.00 against 621 N 9th Street, Ft. Pierce, FL 34950 - Parcel ID #2403-711-0032-000-9 previously owned by Eva Gilliam, 14860 Harrison Street, Miami, FL 33176 and currently owned by John Travers, 1630 Seaway Dr., Ft. Pierce, FL 34949 to $850.00 (includes the $250.00 City Commission administration fee) payable in 6 months.
SUMMARY:
- Requestor is the current property owner; however, the previous owner is responsible for creating the fines and lien.
- Mr. Travers bought the property with the knowledge there was a lien and active condemnation. He demolished the structure at his own expense, bringing the violations into compliance.
- His intentions for the property is to build on it and reside.
- Mr. Travers offered $400.00 to resolve the matter.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Special Magistrate heard the property owner's request and recommends the City Commission reduce the lien to $850.00 payable in 6 months. This reduction includes the City Commission's administrative fees of $250.00.
