SUBJECT:
Approval to enter into a new Early Lease Renewal with Yamaha Motor Corporation for 65 new golf carts for a period of 48 months beginning December 1, 2018 for an amount not to exceed $46,800 annually. The new terms will also include 5 golf carts from our current fleet at no charge that we will own outright.
SUMMARY:
Our current lease was also an Early Lease Renewal originally for 60 months ending May 31, 2019. The current lease only provided coverage for major parts of 48 months therefore leaving us exposed to costly repairs in the amount of approximately $3,500. By retaining the current fleet for the remaining 6 months we will be assuming an additional $5,000-$7,000 in repairs.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff's recommendation is to approve the early lease renewal with Yamaha Motor Corporation.
ALTERNATIVES:
There are currently two additional companies that supply Golf Cart Fleet vehicles. Proposals have been recieved from Club Car which is $68,880 annually and EZ GO proposed $55,440 annually.

FISCAL IMPACT:
The Early Lease Renewal would be in an amount of $3,900 monthly ($46,800) annually, for 48 months beginning on December 1, 2018. Of which, all major parts would be covered by the new warranty moving forward. The new vehicles are fuel injected and would also be more fuel efficient that our current fleet.
