SUBJECT:

Resolution No. 19-R06 establishing an Infrastructure Surtax Citizen Oversight Committee as per the requirements specified in City of Fort Pierce Resolution No. 18-R15 and the half-cent sales surtax ballot language approved by the citizens of St. Lucie County.

SUMMARY:

In November 2018 the citizens of St. Lucie County approved a ballot referendum in which an additional half-cent sales tax (surtax) was approved.  This surtax would be utilized by the applicable local governments to provide financing, planning, constructing,reconstructing, renovating, and improving new and existing infrastructure.  As a condition of this surtax approval, the County, City of Fort Pierce, and City of Port St. Lucie were to establish an Infrastructure Surtax Oversight Committee to provide independent oversight.
