SUBJECT:
Approval of selection of Counsel for Opioid Litigation.
SUMMARY:
Municipalities across the United States have filed lawsuits alleging damages as a result of the manufacture and dissemination of opioids into local communities. Approval of the Contingent Fee Agreement with the Retained Counsel will allow the City of Fort Pierce to file its own lawsuit seeking to recover damages for these claims.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve.

Do not approve or approve with modifications.

Fiscal Impact
OTHER INFORMATION:
There is no fiscal impact because it is a contingent fee agreement, which means the City will only pay out of any recovered funds. The City is not obligated to pay any funds during the pendency of the litigation.
