SUBJECT:

Request to initiate RFQ/P for redevelopment of Fisherman's Wharf property.

SUMMARY:

The Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency owns 1.67 acres of land in the Fisherman's Wharf area that currently does not have a defined use.  This tract of land is adjacent to a 1.52 acre portion of City of Fort Pierce land that is presently used for parking to accomodate recreational and commercial needs. Together the FPRA and City of Fort Pierce have an opportunity to publicly advertise the redevelopment of this area in order to seek a qualified proposer to redevelop the aforementioned 3.19 acres to create a functional and transitional area that accentuates the Port of Fort Pierce and Downtown Fort Pierce. 

RECOMMENDATION:

FPRA Board direction to staff to initiate the development of the RFQ/P documents for this redevelopment opportunity

ALTERNATIVES:

Staff will proceed as directed by the FPRA Board.
