SUBJECT:
Approval of the Agreement for Development of King's Landing with Audubon Development, Inc. which was approved by the FPRA on November 12, 2019, on requires City Commission approval as well.
SUMMARY:
At the Special Fort Pierce Redevelopment Agency Meeting on June 13, 2019, the FPRA Board evaluated the two proposals received in response to RFP 2019-003 for the Redevelopment of the Former H.D. King Plant Site. The FPRA Board voted to enter into negotiations with the highest ranked proposer, Audubon Development, for a period of 90 days. The 90-day negotiation period was set to expire on September 11, 2019. At a Special FPRA Meeting on September 9, 2019, staff requested and was granted a 60-day extension for the negotiation period. The negotiation is concluded and the development agreement was approved by the FPRA Board on November 12, 2019. It is now being presented for the consideration of the City Commission.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the approval of the Development Agreement of King's Landing with Audubon Development, Inc. for the redevelopment of the former H.D. King Plant site.
ALTERNATIVES:
Staff will proceed as directed by the City Commission.
