SUBJECT:

Approval to piggyback the Sourcewell Contract #112014-NWY for the purchase of one (1) 2019 Peterbilt demonstrator refuse collection truck, New Way Truck, Scranton, IA 54162, in accordance with the attached quote, in an amount not to exceed $248,925.00.

SUMMARY:

The Public Works Department is seeking approval to purchase one (1) 2019 Peterbilt Demonstrator refuse truck from New Way Trucks piggybacking Sourcewell Cooperative Contract # 112014-NWY in an amount not to exeed $248,925.00. This vehicle will replace the current rental refuse truck being returned on Monday, March 16, 2020 at the rate of $6,600.00 per month plus delivery fees.

The Purchasing Division has reviewed and investigated the procurment process for this item and found all terms and conditions meet the piggyback requirements of the City of Fort Pierce.

RECOMMENDATION:

Approval to piggyback Sourcewell Cooperative Contract #12014-NWY, in accordance with the attached quote, for the amount of $248,925.00. The approval of this requested expenditure will allow the Public Works Department to replace the refuse truck that was being rented.

Staff will proceed as directed by the Commission.
