SUBJECT:
Approval of a purchase order not to exceed $82,500.00 for the emergency repair of the Police Department's door control and security system.
SUMMARY:
The Police Department respectfully request the approval of a purchase order not to exceed $82,500.00 for the emergency repair of the Department's door control and security system. This system suffered a catastrophic failure after a lightning strike on August 14, 2020 and is in need of wide spread repairs. The Department solicited bids and received two replies, both are attached. The Department has selected to proceed with 1st Fire and Security bid of $82,500.00 to conduct system repairs which was the lowest bid from vendors that responded.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the purchase order for emergency repairs to proceed.
ALTERNATIVES:
To deny the request which will result in the Police Department being vulnerable to security breaches due to a number of doors left unsecured.
