SUBJECT:
Legislative Hearing - Ordinance 20-022 - Amending Chapter 103, Article IX, Section 103-343 - Clean and Safe Community Initiative. SECOND READING
SUMMARY:
The proposed amendment addresses two separate items - expanding the types of services and extending the program for an additional three years.
- The types of services that can be covered through the Clean & Safe Community Initiative (CSI) have been expanded to include additional types of nuisance abatement and provides for safety programs and equipment.
- The types of services have been separated into two separate categories: those that do not require review and approval of the City Commission and those that do require review and approval of the City Commission.
- The sunset provision has been amended to extend the program for an additional three years with an expiration date of September 30, 2023.

The CSI fee is set by Resolution at $1.00 per utility bill per month. All funds are placed in a restricted fund that may only be accessed for activities approved by the City Commission.
