SUBJECT:
Approve request by staff to issue a Final Notice of Condemnation in regards to 515 N 14th Street, owned by Eugene Brown Jr, 2602 Essex Drive, Fort Pierce, FL 34946 for failure to comply with conditions outlined in Section 3 of Resolution 21-R25, adopted by the City Commission on May 3, 2021.
SUMMARY:
On May 3, 2021, the City Commission adopted Resolution 21-R25 declaring the structure at 515 N 14th Street to be unsafe and a nuisance. The structure was condemned in accordance with the time frames and regulations outlined in the Rules of Procedure for Condemnation and Demolition unless the following conditions were met:
- Owner shall remove the roof structure and interior walls within 45 days of demolition permit issuance (COMPLIED); and
- Owner shall submit plans and a building permit application for reconstruction within 60 days from the date of this hearing, May 3, 2021 (CONDITION NOT MET - NO APPLICATION OR PLANS SUBMITTED AS OF 8/11/2021); and
- Owner shall cause the first building inspection to occur within 45 days after reconstruction building permit is issued.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends issuing the Final Notice of Condemnation due to failure to comply with the conditions required pursuant to Resolution 21-R25.
ALTERNATIVES:
Grant additional extention of time to comply.
