SUBJECT:
Request approval of a change order to Purchase Order # 140045 in the amount of $58,300.00 for Wind Tech Products, Inc. to abate all lead and asbestos found at St. Anastasia during window removal and installation.
SUMMARY:
Lead and Asbestos was found at St. Anastasia during the removal of the old windows. As required by the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP), under grant number 14HM-2Y-10-66-02-144, the applicant must comply with the Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA) for abatement of these hazards. The contractor, Wind Tech Products Inc,. complied with this act in removal, testing, disposal, licensing, and certification of equipment and materials of the lead and asbestos before installation of the new windows. As stated in the attached email from Carly Miller, HMGP Project Manager, Florida Division of Emergency Management, these costs are eligible for reimbursement under this grant so there will be no cost to the City.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve change order in the amount of $58,300 for Wind Tech Products, Inc. and obtain reimbursement from Florida Division of Emergency Management. This item was not included in the original contract between the City of Fort Pierce and Wind Tech Products.
