SUBJECT:
Approval of Change Order No.2 to Bellingham Marine in the amount of $31,366.50 for the replacement of 6 wood navigational markers with steel marker poles in the deeper water of the City Marina entrance channel pending approval by City Attorney.
SUMMARY:
The Marina has been requested by the Coast Guard to realign and renumber the Marina's entrance channel. The Marina also expends annually approximately $10,000.00 replacing wood navigational markers due to boat impacts. The wood markers tend to shear at the mud line making them unusable, switching to the steel pile will help reduce the annual cost to maintain the markers.
RECOMMENDATION:

ALTERNATIVES:
Continue to utilize the wood markers and complete the realignment and renumbering requested by the Coast Guard.
